This blog came about as the result of a recent trip to the US to celebrate American Thanksgiving. I was asked if I would like to cook a dish for a potluck dinner for a group of international college students that could not get home during the holidays.
My girl friend and I packed up our favorite cast iron pots and pans, knives, a blender, cutting boards, and numerous spices I wanted to make sure I had on hand, and started the 10 1/2 hour drive to North Carolina. Naturally we also packed some cookbooks and hand written recipes I had collected over the years to make sure we wouldn't duplicate a recipe someone else was already making.
During the drive I began thinking about how convenient it would be to have my recipes available wherever I went with out having to actually bring the books along.
These are my favorite recipes.
